SGMC Health Berrien County Community Health Needs Assessment
Assessing community health needs in Berrien County
South Georgia Research Partners conducted a Community Health Needs Assessment for SGMC Health’s Berrien Campus in Nashville, Georgia. The project examined the health conditions, healthcare challenges, and unmet needs affecting Berrien County residents.
The assessment combined demographic, socioeconomic, and public health indicators with a community survey completed by 101 residents and a focus group of local stakeholders. The research evaluated chronic health conditions, behavioral risk factors, access to care, available healthcare resources, and community perceptions of local needs.
The findings identified access to primary and specialty care, behavioral health services, and the prevention and management of chronic diseases as key priorities. The assessment provided the evidence used to develop SGMC Health’s implementation plan for improving community health and expanding access to needed services.
