Camden County Community Needs and CDBG-DR Study
Measuring community needs in Camden County
South Georgia Research Partners conducted a community needs assessment to support planning and grant-development efforts in Camden County. Developed in partnership with Camden Connection and the Center for South Georgia Regional Impact, the project examined housing, employment, childcare, food security, internet access, and residents’ use of community resources following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project also included a low- and moderate-income study supporting a proposed Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery infrastructure project in Kingsland. The survey was designed in accordance with Georgia Department of Community Affairs guidance and received 722 responses from Camden County residents.
Survey data were analyzed using R, with the methodology, calculations, and supporting materials documented to provide a transparent and reproducible foundation for community planning and funding decisions.
